SquidGuard is a URL redirector used to use blacklists with the proxysoftware Squid. There are two big advantages to squidguard: it is fast and it is free.
Bootcamp on an already partitioned drive
New MacBook at work with OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on it. However, due to compatibility issues with some software, the machine will probably need to run OS X 10.4 instead. While I have the thing, figured I'd also install Windows XP on it so I could experiment with my Windows deployment guide.
So the first thing I did was boot from the OS X install disc and used Disk Utility to make 3 partitions - OS X 10,5 OS X 10.4 and one for Windows. After spending a few hours reinstalling 10.5 and then downloading and installing the 600MB+ of updates, I fired up Boot Camp Assistant and then got the kick in the nuts. It will only work on an unpartitioned drive - aaaarggh! It appears I'm not the only one to run into this as Google has showed.
If you just need the Mac drivers out of Boot Camp, you can get them with:
CTRL+Click on the Boot Camp Assistant and choose Show Package Contents. Now navigate to Contents -> Resources and you’ll find a DiskImage.dmg.
Ooops...maybe not! It appears they are no longer there in Leopard. To get the drivers, just insert the first OS X disc while running Windows - setup.exe is what you want to run.
