Nagios has many useful plugins for monitoring this qmail server.
Prerequisites for Monitoring With Nagios
These instructions assume that you have a Nagios server already set up similar to the instructions on this site.
In order to check services that are local to the mail server, NRPE must be installed on the server, along with any check plugins that you want to use. Instructions for installing NRPE and the standard Nagios check plugins can be found here.
